He is a bloke with a one-track-mind. He is also responsible for guaranteeing that the course of history flows as it should. This way, he can continue to see Orlene. Also by Piers Anthony. And the only explanation in the entire series is that Chronos is “mostly immune” to paradox- mostly immune meaning whenever Anthony doesn’t want to explain something, Chronos is hurglass, the rest of the time he’s not immune?
